WATERPROOF — Funeral service for Mr. Oscar Nugent, 69, of Waterproof, La., who passed away Aug. 6, 2015 in West Monroe, La., will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015 in the chapel of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Walters and the Rev. Curtis Smith officiating.

Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home-Winnsboro, La.

The family will receive friends for visitation today, Aug. 9, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Oscar, an oil field rough neck, was born on July 24, 1946 in Harrisonburg, La. to the union of Mac and Dovie Nugent. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers and one grandson, Heath Temple. Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Pearl Matthews Nugent; daughter, Peggy Temple and husband R.C. of Waterproof, La; grandson, Louis Temple and wife Jessica of Noblesville, Ind.; granddaughter, Helen Temple of Waterproof, La.; three brothers, two sisters and two sister-in-laws. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Pallbearers will be Bo Allen, Roy A. Nugent, Jaboria Holmes, Benny Evans, Dusty Till, Bubba Townsend, Brent Evans and Randy Nugent.
