FERRIDAY — Services for John Wayne Bunning, 62, of Lake St. John, who died Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Harry Boyd officiating.

Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bunning was born March 15, 1953, in Evergreen Park, Ill., the son of Robert Donald Bunning and Lois Vanderschoot Bunning.

He was a member of Tensas Baptist Church and the former owner of Diamond Disposal in Ferriday.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa “Tootie” Bunning; one daughter, Christina Ellison of Palm Coast, Fla.; one son, Matthew Bunning and wife, Tiffany, of Daytona, Fla.; one stepson, Drew Hudnall of Ferriday; one stepdaughter, Charly Hudnall of Lake St. John; four grandchildren, Aidan Ellison, Abbey Ellison, Wiley Hudnall and Waylon Hudnall; two sisters, Lois “Jean” Bunning of Port Orange, Fla., and Lori Rodgers and husband, Dave, of Alpharetta, Ga.; one brother, Bruce Bunning of Port Orange; and two nephews, Justin Duffy and wife, Katelyn and Jordan Duffy.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice.
