NATCHEZ — Late-night pizza took a turn for the worst Monday when an armed robber walked into Little Caesar’s Pizza on U.S. 61 North.

Natchez Police Department Detective Jerry Ford said at approximately 9:50 p.m. Monday, a black male wearing a white T-shirt entered the restaurant and demanded money.

“When he came in, he walked straight to the kitchen area and confronted the manager and another employee,” Ford said. “Then he drew his weapon and demanded he be taken to the safe.”

Ford said the manager took the suspect to the safe and gave him an unknown amount of cash.

After getting the cash, Ford said the suspect left the restaurant, and then the manager immediately called police.

No one was injured in the robbery, and no suspects have been identified yet, Ford said.

“The only thing we can do right now is basically look for a person fitting the description of what they gave us,” he said.

Ford said residents with any information on the suspect should call Miss-Lou Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000.

“If anyone has information that could lead to this person’s arrest, there is a monetary award of up to a $1,000,” he said.

Ford said he encouraged all other businesses to be aware of such.

“I want businesses to be aware of their surroundings, and if they see anything suspicious, contact the police department,” he said.
