NATCHEZ — Before Adams County Christian School and Trinity Episcopal Day School battle in a jamboree exhibition Thursday night, a celebration will occur at midfield.
Being dubbed as “A Night of Champions,” six former and current head football coaches will be celebrated for their state championship success at midfield. Ed Reed, who won a state championship with South Natchez in 1981; Bobby Marks, who won a state championship with ACCS in 1982; Jack Benson, who won a state championship with Trinity in 1989; David King, who won state championships at Trinity in 2001, 2006, 2009 and 2010; Josh Loy, who won a state championship at Trinity at 2013; and Ron Rushing, who won a state championship at Cathedral High School in 2014 will all be recognized.
“These great coaches need to be honored together for the first, and hopefully not the last, time,” organizer Jimmy Allgood said.
