NATCHEZ — A remembering for Gerald Caraway, 69, of Mission, Texas, who died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at St. Mary’s Mayo Hospital in Rochester, Minn., will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnny Caraway’s home, 639 Kingston Road in Natchez, for friends and family.8:19GeraldCaraway obitpic

Mr. Caraway was born April 10, 1946, in Natchez, the son of John Cecil and Etta Mae Caraway.

He was a faithful Christian in the Church of Christ, setting a good example of how to be a leader, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was full of love for God, family and friends, always eager to make others smile. The best dad in the world.

Mr. Caraway was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; and one son, Gerald Lawayne Caraway.

Survivors include a devoted wife, Macy Caraway; two daughters, Becky Hill and husband, Gerry, of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Celia Lindsey and husband, Deric, of Paragould, Ark.; one son, John Cecil Caraway and wife, Irene, of Clarksville, Tenn.; three brothers, Johnny, Jerry and Charlie Caraway, all of Natchez; five grandchildren, Ashley Holt and husband, Brandon, Ethan Lindsey, Savannah Hill, Summar Hill and Dray Lindsey; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
