Mr. Gammill was born June 27, 1927, in Meadville, the son of Edgar C. Gammill and Laura Murray Gammill.

He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and had a strong faith and loved the Lord, his family and friends.  He always had a kind word, a little cash or a joke to share with anyone who came his way. He will be missed by many.

Barnett, “Bruno,” as he was known to many, graduated from Meadville High School in 1947. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was a longtime member of the Robert Posey Lodge No. 566, where he was a Master Mason and Shriner.

Mr. Gammill was retired from Johns-Manville after 46 years of service. On Sept. 20, 1952, he married his high school sweetheart, Thelma Ruth Hill.

Mr. Gammill was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Glida Gammill Phillips; and one nephew, David Hoyt Phillips.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Thelma Ruth Gammill; one brother, Claude Gammill and wife, Martha; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Hill and Betty Jean Smith and husband, Pete; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ben Hill, Casey Hill, Clark Smith, Justin Smith, Blake Southward and Charles Stephens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Smith and Larry Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Parkway Baptist Church Building Fund or to a charity of choice.
