Three inmates escape in Tensas Parish

WATERPROOF — Police are searching for three inmates who escaped this morning from the Tensas Parish Detention Center.

Warden Jay Smith said Christopher Newcomb, Christopher Stringer and Chase Courville escaped but could not confirm the time or manner of their escape.

Smith described the men as three white males and said the incident was under investigation.

Courville was serving time for armed robbery and was scheduled for release in September next year, Smith said. Stringer had two years left to serve for the theft of a motor vehicle, and Newcomb had five years left to serve for simple burglary.
