NATCHEZ — Services for Willie L. “Scooter” Marsaw Sr., 66, of Dallas, formerly of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at the Veterans Hospital in Dallas, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Leonard Marsaw officiating.

Burial will follow at Painter Hill Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas.

Mr. Marsaw was born Aug. 12, 1949, in Natchez, the son of Johnnie L. Marsaw Sr. and Cora L. Bailey Marsaw.

He was a retired insurance agent. He had also served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Marsaw was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Miles Bailey and Anita Carter; and paternal grandparents, Levi and Elizabeth Marsaw.

Survivors include five sons, Michael A. Brown and Willie L. Marsaw Jr., both of Dallas, Christopher D. Brown of Rowlett, Texas, Alan Brown of Natchez and Gregory E. Brown of Vidalia; four daughters, Connie Clayton and Teleter Thompson, both of Natchez, Carla D. Williams of Vidalia and Chevell Vasser of Tupelo; seven brothers, Johnnie L. Marsaw Jr. of Vidalia, Cleotha Marsaw of Natchez, Leonard S. Marsaw of DeSoto, Texas, Ronnie Hendrix of Columbus, Ga., Terry L. Marsaw of Dallas, Ezell Hendrix of Macon, Ga., and Leterry Marsaw of San Francisco; three sisters, Hazel R. Roberts of Mesquite, Texas, Cora A. Marsaw of DeSoto and Belinda D. Marsaw Smith of Dallas; 25 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two aunts, Dorothy M. Camper of Dallas and Martha M. Mitchell of Chicago; one uncle, Louis Camper Sr. of Dallas; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
