NATCHEZ — Services for Everlean “Baby Sister” Irving, 62, of Natchez, who died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez-Community Campus, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today with a celebration of life service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Miss Irving was born Feb. 25, 1953, in Natchez, the daughter of Arthur L. Irving Sr. and Beulah Wilson Irving.
Everlean was a 1971 graduate of North Natchez High School. She was also retired from International Paper Company where she worked as a lab tech.
Everlean was a member of Second Union Baptist Church. Her hobbies included listening to music, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and her family.
Miss Irving was preceded in death by her grandparents, Saul and Tina Wilson and George and Everlean Irving; one sister, Laura M. Isaac; and two nephews, Eddie Darnell Gaines and Vernon Isaac.
Survivors include her parents; one son, Corey Reed; two grandchildren, Jacorey Stewart and Carrien Reed; two brothers, Arthur L. Irving Jr. and wife, Loria, of Natchez, and Theodore Jones of New Orleans; seven sisters, Earline Gaines, Betty Irving, Theresa Irving, Lillie Irving, Linda Hutchins and husband, Larry, Tracey January, all of Natchez, and Linda Brown and husband, Johnny, of Jacksonville, Ark.; one aunt, Gertrude Wilson; one great-aunt, Odessa Russell of St. Francisville, La.; one great-uncle, James Nelson; three godchildren, LaKeisha Minor, Wardaja Gaines and Michael Mitchell Jr.; and a number of other relatives and friends.
