NATCHEZ — A celebration of life service for John Boyd, 91, who died Wednesday, Aug. 19. 2015, in Chicago, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Greater Fatherland Baptist Church with the Rev. James Lee officiating.

Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Clara Boyd; his wife, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Boyd; one brother, Charlie Boyd; and one sister, Minnie B. Ellis.

Survivors include one daughter, Hester Pinder and husband, Richard; one granddaughter, Heather Pinder; three grandchildren, all of Chicago; one godson, Don Gordon Sr. and wife, Myrtis, of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
