NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Elyn Wallace Scruggs, 84, of Natchez, formerly of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Riverland Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. today at Assumption Catholic Church with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service today at the church.
Mrs. Scruggs was born September 8, 1931 in Alexandria, La., the daughter of E. E. Wallace and Zulma Patureau Wallace.
She was a member of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George M. Scruggs Jr., her parents; her son, Jeffrey A. Scruggs; two sisters, Evelyn Williams and Theresa Jackson; one brother, Richard Wallace and one grandson, Clint Patrick.
Survivors include six children, Suzi Vaughan and husband, Paul, of Natchez, Brenda Rhodes of Ferriday, John Scruggs of Natchez, Pam Hoffpauir and husband, Johnny Lee, Sharon Patrick and husband, Johnny, all of Vidalia, and Cecilia Rutherford and husband, Randy, of Grand Cane, La.; 12 grandchildren, Sean Patrick and wife, Jessie, Josh Hoffpauir and wife, Khara, Jarret Hoffpauir and wife, Molly, Gabe Rhodes and wife, Julie, Bronson Rhodes, Dakota Vaughan, Kalob Scruggs, Sabrina Patrick Dore’ and husband, Tab, Rebecca Rutherford, Savannah V. Anderson and husband, Charles, Haley Vaughan and Abby Vaughan; 16 great-grandchildren, Reagan Patrick, Logan Wilson, Zach and Zoey Hoffpauir, Jiles, Aspen and Canon Hoffpauir, Logan and Chance Rhodes, John Garrett Patrick, Jackson Dore’, Alison and Natalie Webb, Easton Anderson, Tate and Flynn Hollis.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
