NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Jerry Richardson, of Roxie, who died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Springfield Baptist Church in Natchez.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mr. Richardson was born March 2, 1944, in Ferriday, the son of P.M. and Lillian Richardson.

He was employed as a supervisor for the City of Natchez Transit System. He was a respected member of the community and a valued employee of Natchez Transit since 1998. In 2000, he was named Unsung Hero of the community by the Natchez Democrat.

Mr. Richardson also served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Michael and Herman; and two sisters, Dorothy and Ruby Jean.

Survivors include two sisters, Brenda Hudgins and Mary Francis Netherlands; two brothers, Jimmy and Joe Richardson; loving father to Deborah Richardson Collins and husband, Paul, of Cypress Texas, Wayne Richardson and wife, Eileen, and Renee Richardson, all of Natchez; loving grandfather of six granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
