NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Grace Marguerite Kilroy, 74, of Natchez, who died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. today at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kilroy was born Feb. 20, 1941, the daughter of Byron Sibley and Grace Marguerite (née Efferson) Sholar of Baton Rouge.
Marguerite was a 1959 graduate of Baton Rouge High School and a 1963 graduate of the University of Lafayette in Louisiana with a bachelor of arts degree in teaching and home economics. She married Dr. James Thomas Kilroy, Feb. 8, 1964, and the couple lived in Baton Rouge until Dr. Kilroy’s retirement in 2004. After which, they relocated to the family’s present home in Natchez.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Edith Fairchild; and her in-laws, John and Angela Kilroy.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Tommy Kilroy; two sons, Jay Kilroy and wife, Christi, of Vicksburg and Andrew Kilroy and wife, Heather, of Oakland, Calif.; one daughter, Kathleen Kilroy Wood and husband, Dr. Patrick Wood, of Madison; and five grandchildren, Benjamin, Collin and Grace Burnell and Lauren and Thomas Kilroy.
Marguerite was devoted to her grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
