Dennis Ray Blalock

THURMONT, Md. — Memorial services for Dennis Ray Blalock, MSG U.S. Army Ret. 1st of 7th Cav., 72 , of Thurmont Md., who died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Stauffer Funeral Home in Thurmont.

Burial will be private.

Mr. Blalock was born Oct. 4, 1942 in Liberty, Miss. to Hazel Angelina Daugherty and Fendrick Scott Blalock.

Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, from which he retired. He owned and operated Firedrake Art Studio in Thurmont. Dennis was a gifted and internationally known artist and writer.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian A. Blalock; parents; sister Virgina Blalock Albritton; brother Fendrick Malin Blalock and sister Charlotte Blalock Weathers.

He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Dollar and husband, David; brother Glenn Allen Blalock and wife, Cecelia and a number of nieces and nephews.
