VIDALIA — A Ferriday man was arrested Sunday morning on allegations he fled a simple criminal charge at extreme rates of speed.
Frederick Brown, 27, 501 Fifth St., Ferriday, was booked in the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office on a charge of aggravated flight from an officer and two counts resisting an officer.
CPSO dispatcher reports indicate Brown was arrested after fleeing through Concordia Parish from Natchez at approximately 110 miles per hour.
Deputies reported Brown’s flight was stopped in the Ferriday area after deputies used spike strips to puncture his tires.
Natchez Police Department Detective Jerry Ford said Brown had allegedly been caught shoplifting at Walmart in Natchez, and when officers arrived he fled from the scene, running several red lights.
Ford said Brown would face charges of reckless driving, fleeing law enforcement officers in a motor vehicle, manifesting extreme indifference and shoplifting.
