FRANKLINTON, La. — What was a promising start for the Centreville Academy Tigers did not exactly turn out that way as Bowling Green School took advantage of six turnovers in the Buccaneers’ 34-7 win Friday night in an MAIS District 5-AAA game.

The rushing yards were nearly even – 162 yards for Centreville and 188 for Bowling Green.

But the Tigers’ Tyler Thomasie had only one passing yard on 4-for-15 passing with two interceptions.

They were led by Jace Ball, who scored touchdowns on offense and defense, and Jordan Barnes, who had two short touchdown runs in the second half.

Tyler Caston was the lone bright spot for the Tigers as he had 100 yards on six carries, including a 78-yard touchdown run nearly midway through the second quarter.

Britt Netterville led Centreville’s defense with 10 tackles and Matthew Parnell intercepted a pass.
