FERRIDAY — Services for Bessie Rae Ferrell, 87, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at Mary Anna Nursing Home in Wisner, La., will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. James Gass officiating.

Burial will follow at the Green Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ferrell was born Jan. 26, 1928, in Eddison, the daughter of Cliff and Ida Patricia Evans Smith.

She was an ordained minister and loved the Lord and her family. She will surely be missed by all that knew her.

Mrs. Ferrell was preceded in death by her parents; her children’s father, James Ivey Richardson; her husband, Alex Proctor Ferrell; one daughter, Victoria Lee; one son, Lyle Keith Richardson; one grandson, Quinton Harper; and one granddaughter, Catherine Angelic.

Survivors include four daughters, Lessie Richardson of Dayton, Texas, Melissa Richardson Baczewski and husband, Richard, of Pasadena, Texas, Shelbie Tosspon of Conroe, Texas, and Evelyn Richardson of Sicily Island; 15 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jackie Harper, Charles Eames, Raymond Proctor Harper, Eric Booth, Jody Sanders and Vance Richardson.
