Two charged with burglary Saturday

NATCHEZ — Two Natchez man were charged with burglary Saturday after they reportedly stole stereo equipment from a vehicle parked at a local hotel.

Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said Roosevelt C. Coach, 35, 9 Winston Hill, and Mikel D. Chatman, 25, 9 Spring St., were charged with burglary after they broke into a vehicle at a hotel on Seargent S. Prentiss Drive. Ford would not specify the hotel.

Officers were able to identify Chatman on security footage. Shortly after the burglary, officers pulled Chatman over, and during the traffic stop, found the stereo system and two amplifiers stolen from the vehicle in the car Chatman was driving.
