MEADVILLE — Services for Alfred Davis “Cry” Smith, 74, of Roxie, who died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville with the Rev. James Hunsucker officiating.

Burial will follow at the Midway Cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born Oct. 14, 1940, the son of Wilkin and Willie Mae Twiner Smith.

He was a farmer and a logger. He was also a member of Elmo Baptist Church.

Mr. Smith loved to run his dogs. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carolyn Janet Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Virginia Ann Farrell Smith; one daughter, Lynn Smith Perry and husband, Rodger; two sons, Lyle Smith and wife, Amy, and Lance Smith and wife, Stephanie, all of Roxie; five brothers, Alton Smith and wife, Peggy, Herman Smith and wife, Betty, David Smith and wife, Sharon, T.J. Smith and wife, Barbara, and Ellis Smith and wife, Susie; two sisters, Jo Smith Pierce and Diana Smith Russell; five grandchildren, Casey Smith, Bryson Smith, Kinsley Smith, Derek Jones and Adam Perry; two special friends, Bryant Thompson and Ricky Alexander; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Harvey Farrell, Anthony Farrell, Ben Thompson, Brett Thompson, Johnathan Hodges, Michael Smith and Greg Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hilton Havard, Michael Petty and Morris Ellis.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Franklin County Memorial Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Baptist Children’s Village.
