FERRIDAY — Services for David R. Hendricks, 67, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La., will be 10 a.m. Monday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber and co-celebrant Randy Maxwell officiating.

Burial will follow at the Monclova Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hendricks was born Dec. 1, 1947, in Tallulah, La., the son of Charles Hubert and Maudie Lavon Vestal Hendricks.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was retired from the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was known by many as Santa Claus. He will be missed by all who knew him.

David was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LaDonna Burgess Hendricks; two brothers, Charles F. Hendricks and Lloyd K. Hendricks; and two sisters, Joyce L. Hendricks and Sue Tidwell.

Survivors include one brother, Ronnie Hendricks and wife, Jonnie, of Vidalia; one special nephew, Charles Dennis Hendricks and wife, Mona, of Church Point, La.; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Gary Morgan, Thad Campbell, Ronnie G. Hendricks, Geoffrey Wilkes, Rob Rushing, Cass Butler, Lee Lancaster and Eli Campbell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Maxwell, Johnny Patrick, Kenneth Hedrick and Bobby Harper.
