Vidalia — A search is on for two Concordia Parish prisoners who have been missing since Monday evening.
Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Vernon Stevens said officials at Concordia Parish Correctional Facility first noticed Christopher Higginbotham, 22, and Michael Wayne Parker, 22, were missing around 9 p.m. Monday.
Stevens said officials do not know at this time how the inmates left the prison, but family members and other contacts in the area are being questioned and a bulletin has been put out to all state agencies.
Higginbotham is described as a white male who is 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighs 153 pounds. He has brown hair.
Parker is described as a white male who is 5-feet-10-inches and weighs 220 pounds. He has reddish hair.
Stevens said neither inmate was in prison for a violent crime.
