One inmate recaptured, one still at large

FERRIDAY — One of the inmates who escaped the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility has been recaptured.
Michael Wayne Parker, 22, was captured by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigator John Cowan in the Ridgecrest area Tuesday night, CPCF Warden’s Assistant Sheila Spinner said.
Two other people, Tina Smithhart, 34, and a juvenile, were arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and accessory to simple escape.
Parker, along with Christopher Higginbotham, 22, was first noticed missing from the CPCF at approximately 9 p.m. Monday. How they may have left the facility has not been disclosed.
Higginbotham, of Ferriday, still remains at large.
He is a white male, approximately 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighing 153 pounds. He has short brown hair, hazel eyes and a tattoo inside his left arm that says, “Tiffany.”
