NATCHEZ — A robber reportedly entered an unsecured residence early Wednesday morning, took money and then fled the scene.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a Laboure Drive residence in reference to an armed robbery at 5:19 a.m. Wednesday.
The victim told investigators she was sleeping in her bed when a man entered the unlocked residence and told her to give him money, reports said. The victim said the man was wearing a white or cream-colored pullover that partially covered his facc.
The man took $95 from the woman’s wallet and then threw the wallet back on the bed. The intruder then left the home on foot before he possibly got into a car and drove away, reports said.
Investigators collected the wallet as evidence.
The incident remains under investigation.
Editor’s note: The above story contained incorrect information. The intruder took $95 in cash from the victim’s wallet before throwing the wallet at her. The victim also contends several details of the police report from which the story was written were incorrect. The reporter wrote the story from an emailed police report from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and wasn’t able to verify or clarify details with an actual deputy or sheriff. We regret the error and are happy to set the record straight.
