FERRIDAY — Services for Jerry Lee Hooper, 70, of Ridgecrest, formerly of Silver City, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Ugorji officiating.

Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Hooper Family Cemetery in Silver City under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Hooper was born March 17, 1945, in Silver City, the son of J.W. Buxton and Louise Christine Hooper.

Mr. Hooper was a landscaper and a member of the New Life Christian Church in San Bernadino, Calif.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Edwards Hooper; two daughters, Stacie Ross and husband, Timothy Ross Jr., of Rialto, Calif., and Stephanie Ruffin and husband, Tahir, of Georgetown, Texas; three sons, Steven Elliott Hooper of Rialto, Calif., Jermaine Thompson of Los Angeles and Lloyd Hooper of Compton, Calif.; one sister, Viola Buxton Cole and her husband of Belzoni; two brothers, Eddie Buxton of Silver City and Jay Buxton Jr. of Atlanta; his stepmother, Rita Buxton of Memphis, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
