NATCHEZ — Services for Gloria Mae McKnight Belton, 68, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez—Community Campus, will be noon Saturday at Second Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life service at 6 p.m.
Visitation will continue from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. Belton was born May 7, 1947, in Adams County, the daughter of Francis McKnight and Dave Jefferson.
Gloria attended Brumfield School. She was a homemaker.
She was also a member of Second Union Baptist Church, where she served as an usher. Other memberships included the Good Samaritan Club and the LF&C Society.
Ms. Belton enjoyed cooking, shopping and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, James McKnight, Emmett, Roger and LeRoy Jefferson.
Survivors include one son, George Belton of Natchez; one daughter, Erica James of Natchez; three brothers, Jimmie Jefferson, Dave Jefferson and wife, Exerlean, all of Chicago, and Robert Tyrone Jefferson of Natchez; three sisters, Francis McKnight, Martha Blake and Rosie Isaac and husband, Cornelius; two aunts, Gertrude Wilson and Alma Fleming; three sisters-in-law, Rosie Wilson, Josie Jefferson and Betty Jefferson; special cousins, U. Logan, Deloris Wilson and Kaleb Logan; and a number of other relatives and friends.
