The Annual Membership Meeting of the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society (NACHS) will be held Monday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. at Rolling River Roasters, located at 406 Main Street. This has been a very exciting and eventful year for NACHS and we look forward to telling you all about our progress at this year’s meeting. Becoming a member of NACHS and attending the annual membership meeting is a great way to support our organization and the animals in our community.

The cost of NACHS membership is $10 for youth, $25 for single, and $50 (two votes) for a family, and the membership fees are tax-deductible donations that support general operations of the shelter. The membership terms run from Jan. 1-Dec. 31, but if you paid your dues at the membership meeting last year, your membership will be current through Dec. 31, 2015.

During the annual membership meeting, members will enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and have the opportunity to purchase beverages from the cash bar. Information about the past year at NACHS and the challenges of the future year will be presented, and the membership will hold a director election during this meeting.

Anyone whose membership is current as of Oct. 30, 2015 will be eligible to participate by casting a vote during the election of directors. If you are not a current member and wish to join in time to vote, you may submit your dues to NACHS, P.O. Box 549, Natchez, Miss. 3912 or in person at the new shelter located at 475 Liberty Road. The membership form is available on our website: www.natchezpetadoptions.org.

If you are interested in becoming a director, please contact our nominations committee by email at natchezpetadoptions@gmail.com or call Deanne Tanksley at 601-446-6681. Director nominations will not be taken from the floor during the meeting, but additional director candidates may be placed in nomination by petition signed by at least 25 members who are eligible to vote. Those names will be added to the ballot. Your petition must be filed with the secretary by Monday, Nov. 16. The address for submitting your petition is NACHS P.O. Box 549, Natchez, Miss. 39121.

We hope that you will join us at the annual membership meeting to catch up on what is going on with our organization and to learn more about how you can support the NACHS in saving and caring for the unwanted animals in our community.
