NATCHEZ — Services for Bertha Lee “Bert” Buchanan, 72, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at Glenburney Nursing Home, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Baptist Church with the Rev. James Washington officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. Buchanan was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Adams County, the daughter of Bernice Williams Walker and Floyd Watson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Albert Walker who helped raised her; two sons, Aubrey Buchanan and Terry Buchanan; and one brother, Otis L. Watson.
Survivors include three sons, Jeffery Watson, Reginald Buchanan and Kevin Buchanan, all of Natchez; one daughter, Yolanda Buchanan Lias and husband, Stanley, of Baton Rouge; one christened goddaughter, Kelsea Wright of Natchez; five grandchildren, Shemekia Davis of Dallas, Terrence Buchanan and Stanley Lias Jr., both of Baton Rouge, Jaliyah Wright and JaCorian Jones, both of Natchez; four great-grandchildren, Mickaela Davis, Xhaiden Bursey, both of Dallas, and Chaise Buchanan and Chance Buchanan, both of Baton Rouge; three brothers, Floyd Watson Jr., Eugene Watson and Curtis Watson, all of Michigan; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
