NATCHEZ — Services for Hazel Stampley James, 91, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez — Community Campus in Natchez, will be at noon Tuesday at Zion Hill No. 1 Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe W. Pickett officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel Natchez and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. James was born on March 11, 1924, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Clyde and Rebecca Stampley.
She was a member of the Mother Board at Zion Hill No. 1 Baptist Church and of Sisters Teaching and Reaching Sisters (STARS).
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, the Rev. Milton James Sr.; one daughter, Julie James; one son, Charles James; one stepson, Solomon James; three sisters and seven brothers.
Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Milton L. James Jr., of Ontario, Calif., Jimmy James and wife, Cathy, of Rancho Cucanmonga, Calif., and Carl James and wife, Shelly, of San Bernardino, Calif.; four daughters, Helen James Wyatt and husband, Dewitt, of Vidalia, Bobbie James Johnson and husband, the Rev. Carl, of Fayette, Bevlyn James Jackson of Carson, Calif., and Nancy James Williams and husband, Don, of Santa Cruz, Calif., 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
