MONTEREY — Memorial services celebrating the life of Jimmy Nickelson Beard, 69, of Conroe, Texas, who died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, in Conroe, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Lismore Baptist Church on Highway 565 in Monterey.

Mr. Beard was born Feb. 26, 1943, in Lismore, La., the son of Charlie and Loula Beard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ella Thelma “Pud” Cannon and Peaches Beard.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Christine Richardson Beard; one daughter, Lisa Beard Shanahan and husband, Tim, and their three children, Jacob, Tyler and Logan; two sons, Jimmy Nickelson Beard II and Daniel Nickelson Beard; one brother, C.D. Beard and wife, Ruth, of Lismore; four sisters, Mary Linnie Gass of Lismore, Milt Brown of Crocket, Texas, Ruby King of Brookhaven and Sharon Ann Morace and husband, Jesse, of Ferriday; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family extends an invitation to come and be with them in this celebration of this remarkable man and share a meal, fellowship and share memories with them during this time.
