NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Velma Freeman, 94, formerly of Natchez, who died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, in Slidell, La., will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mrs. Freeman was born July 26, 1921, in Marion County, the daughter of Thomas R. Beard and Beulah Lowe Beard.

She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and later attended Parkview Church of God with her husband.

Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lacy E. Freeman; two brothers, Horace Beard and Howard Beard; two sisters, Lois Howarth and Mildred Matousek; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Retter.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann Webb and husband, Don, of Novato, Calif., and Wanda Lipscomb and husband, Butch, of Pearl; three sons, Doyle Freeman and wife, Jane, of Slidell, Ronnie Freeman and wife, Sandy, of Cleveland, Tenn., and Larry Freeman of Denver; 12 grandchildren, Michelle Haimson, Lee Freeman, Kelly Freeman, Bret Lipscomb, Michael Freeman, Mark Freeman, Cindy Hastings, Debbie Kupetsky, Erik Freeman, Melissa Simmons, Jeffrey Freeman and Rachel Freeman; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Butch Lipscomb, Larry Freeman, Michael Freeman, Mark Freeman, Jeffrey Freeman and Bret Lipscomb.
