NATCHEZ — Services for Theodore Edward Brunner, 79, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2015, at The Columns Community Care Center in Jonesville, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Xavier officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Brunner was born July 16, 1936, in St. Marys, Pa., to Theodore Williams Brunner and Cecelia O’Malley Brunner.
He was educated in St. Marys Catholic School and graduated from Bonaventure University in Olean, N.Y.
Mr. Brunner was a career veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country all over the world. After his return from Vietnam, he worked for the for the Social Security Administration. After his retirement from the federal government, he established his self as a master electrician in Natchez. He lived a life of service to others — always giving of himself to others needs.
Mr. Brunner was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Peter Joseph Brunner and John Francis Brunner; and his beloved in-laws, Bobby and Alice Anders.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Anders Brunner; one son, Michael B. Varnado; one daughter, Shannon Varnado Young; and two grandchildren who were the joy of his old age, John Walker Young and Vivian Elaine Varnado.
Mr. Brunner was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidalia. He enjoyed his relationship with his church and appreciated its devotion to him during his illness. A special thanks to Corrine Randazzo and Bill McDonough, the Rev. Paul and members of St. Gerard Catholic Church of Jonesville for their dedication to him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
