VICKSBURG — After getting off to a good start, MHSAA Class 3A Jefferson County could not keep the momentum going against a good Class 6A Warren Central team as the Lady Vikings defeated the Lady Tigers 57-42 Monday night.

Jefferson County led Warren Central 14-9 at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Vikings did not panic. They outscored the Lady Tigers 13-7 in the second quarter to take a 22-21 lead into halftime.

The third quarter went back and forth, but Warren Central was able to extend its lead to four points, 37-33, at the end of the quarter. Then the Lady Vikings put the game away with a 20-9 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Jefferson County (1-1) next plays at home on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. against Amite County.
