VIDALIA — Memorial services for Harold “Dix” Houghton, 62, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, in Jackson, will be 7 p.m. today at Vidalia First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill McCullin officiating.

A private family visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Houghton was born Dec. 12, 1952, in Ferriday, the son of Fred and Blanche Houghton.

He was employed as a millwright and maintenance supervisor for John Mansville for 23 and one half years and most recently, at Louisiana Elastomer.

Mr. Houghton was Baptist. He loved family, fishing and Louisiana State University sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Nita Houghton; two sons, Corey Houghton and wife, Rebekah and Chad Houghton and wife, Beth; seven grandchildren, Austin, Sydnee, Chloe, Andrew, Brayden, Ainslee and Gracyn; two brothers, Jerry and Joe Houghton; two sisters, Joy White and Jane Smith; and a number of nieces and nephews.
