NATCHEZ — Services for Eddie Hargrave Jr., 65, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Jerusalem Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Road.12_11 EddieHargraveJr. obitpic

Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:20 p.m. today with a celebration of life wake service at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Hargrave was born Jan. 22, 1950, the son of Eddie Hargrave Sr. and Julia Woods Hargrave.

He was a 1969 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School.

Eddie was the owner of Hargrave’s Masonry Construction and co-owner of Hargrave Rental. He was retired.

Eddie was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Other memberships included the Krewe of Mer and the Associated Contractors. He was also a volunteer coach for the youth basketball and baseball teams and a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed interacting with and helping the youth, cooking and entertaining family and friends.

Mr. Hargrave was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Eddie Hargrave III, Paul Goffrey and Robert Edward Hargrave Sr.; two brothers, Robert Lee Hargrave Sr. and Carl Edward Hargrave; and one daughter, Margaret Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Noble Hargrave; two sons, Edwin Hargrave and wife, Raven, and Mizell Noble and wife, Naila; two daughters, Gloria McKnight and husband, Cavin, and Jamie Lewis and husband, Overton; three brothers, Randolph Hargrave and wife, Deborah, Donnell Hargrave and wife, Virginia, and Paul Hargrave and wife, Jacqueline; two sisters, Dianne H. Johnson and husband, Edward, and Carolyn H. Fleming and husband, Vernell; mother-in-law, Thelma Noble; one uncle, James Clay; one aunt, Willie B. Woods; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice Green and husband, George, Theresa H. Hargrave, Gloria R. Hargrave, Alex Noble Jr., Larry Noble and wife, Malisha; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of special nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
