Trinity varsity boys, girls victorious

NATCHEZ — The Trinity Episcopal Lady Saints overwhelmed Oak Forest from the start Monday evening to defeat the Lady Yellow Jackets 53-44.
After the first quarter, Trinity led Oak Forest 25-6. The Lady Yellow Jackets battled back to narrow Trinity’s lead to 6 points at the end of three quarters. From there, the Lady Saints took control by outscoring Oak Forest 13-6 to win the game.
D’Asia Mitchell led Trinity with a game-high 24 points. Dionna Jackson followed with a 23-point performance.
Trinity Episcopal boys 53, Oak Forest 45
NATCHEZ — Kevontaye Caston led Trinity Episcopal with a game-high 19 points to lead the Saints past an Oak Forest team that refused to quit.
At the end of the first quarter, each team was tied at 12 apiece. An 11-8 advantage in the second quarter left Oak Forest with a 25-22 lead going into the half.
The Saints came out with a solid third- quarter performance, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 19-8. The third quarter would prove to be the difference after the two teams knotted up 12-12 in the fourth quarter.
The Saints’ David Jackson also scored in double figures with a 16-point performance.
