Margaret Stockett Falkenheiner

WOODVILLE — Funeral services for Margaret Stockett Falkenheiner, 91, who died Dec. 25, 2015, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodville United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.

Margaret Stockett Falkenheiner was born Sept.27, 1924, at Hopehill Plantation in Wilkinson County, the daughter of Eva Boatner Stockett and Leonard Barber Stockett Sr.  She graduated from Wilkinson County Agricultural High School in 1942 and attended Belhaven College, where she played violin and sang in several groups.  She graduated from LSU with a degree in business and married “Jimmy” Falkenheiner in 1946. Her career included sheriff’s deputy, clerk in the mayor’s office, assistant buyer at Seven Day Wholesale Company and business teacher at Wilkinson County Vocational School. She was a Sunday school teacher, pianist and organist at the Woodville Presbyterian Church.

She was a member of the Woodville Presbyterian Church, the Rebekah Lodge and she was a charter member of the Junior Irwin Russell Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Leonard B. Stockett Jr.,

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, James T. Falkenheiner; and her daughter, Margaret Lyn Falkenheiner of Woodville.

Pallbearers will be Donny Cupit, Overton Nicholas, Leon Veals, Phillip Cutrer, Eric Trevillion and Moose Tolbert.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Canova, Dr. Jennings Owens, Hal Brannan, Charles McGraw, Stephen Seal, Prentiss Ferguson and Hines Brannan.

Memorials may be made to the Woodville Presbyterian Church Building Maintenance Fund, the Woodville Methodist Church or the Natchez Children’s Home.
