Ferriday woman dies in crash

FERRIDAY — A Ferriday woman died Monday morning after she was ejected from a single-vehicle crash in Concordia Parish.
Lisa R. Emfinger, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened on Louisiana 566 north of U.S. 84. Louisiana State Police troopers responded to the scene at 10:05 a.m.
Emfinger was driving southbound on Louisiana 566 when she lost control of the 2003 Chevrolet SUV she was driving.
The vehicle left the right side of the roadway and overturned, during which the victim was thrown from the vehicle, a Louisiana State Police spokesman said.
Emfinger was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, investigators reported.The crash remains under investigation and routine toxicology tests are pending.
