MARBURY, Ala. — Graveside services for Eugene Davis McCary, 76, of Black River Lake in Jonesville, who died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at his residence surrounded by family after a 10 year battle with cancer, will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Union Congregational Christian Church Cemetery, 8188 Lightwood Road, Marbury, Ala.
Mr. McCary was born Jan. 26, 1939, in Vida, Ala., the son of James Gower and Millinee Esco McCary.
He worked in the finance business as manager and area supervisor for companies in Alabama and Mississippi. He retired in Natchez in 2001.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his last years living on the lake.
Mr. McCary was preceded in death by his parents of Montgomery, Ala.
Survivors include his wife, Christina McCary; two children, Michele McCary of Kirbyville, Texas, and Karla Pope and husband, Pat, of Saucier; three stepchildren, Mitzi Clark and husband, Kevin, of San Antonio, Texas, Bryan Martin of Eureka, Calif., and Benjamin Martin and wife, Malissa, of Houston; two sisters, Linda Bannister and husband, Glen, of Montgomery and Shawn Dominic and husband, Virgil, of Medina, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Jacob and Logan Rackleff of Olympia, Wash., Stephanie Reeves of Kirbyville, Texas, Paxton and Peyton Pope of Saucier, Christopher and Patrick Clark of San Antonio, Haden Brackett of Newton, Ill., Phineas Crabtree of Asheville, N.C., and Baila and Jonah Burnam of Lakewood, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren.
