NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Gooden Hunt, 86, who died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at her residence, will be noon Saturday at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating.01:08 MaryGHunt obitpic

Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Hunt was born Nov. 18, 1929, in Adams County, the daughter of John Gooden and Tennessee Johnson Butler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter; two grandsons; one great-grandson; two sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include five daughters, Mary A. Gooden, Bessie Bates and husband, George, Peggy Hutchins and husband, Ricky, Margaret Holmes and Barbara Clark; three sons, Lee Gooden and wife, Betty, Ernest Gooden and wife, Juanita, and the Rev. Samuel Hunt and wife, Edna; five sisters, Elizabeth Latham, Carrie B. Minor, Lillie M. Anderson and husband, Martin, Joyce G. Rising and husband, Milton, and Debra G. Coach and husband, Charles; one brother, James Butler and wife, Rosetta; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
