Good news rising in the Miss-Lou

Nearly everyone in the area continues to keep a watchful eye on the rising Mississippi River this week.
While the river’s crest isn’t expected to arrive until Sunday, the build up has been coming for weeks.
Forecasters lowered the crest level again Sunday, meaning the truly scary, near-record levels should not be seen this year.
With that bit of good news start off the week, we also pause this morning, as is our custom, to remember some of the good news from our community last week.
-The Natchez Little Theatre celebrated the close of its 67th season last week. We applaud the many volunteers at the theater for entertaining throngs of locals and tourists alike.
– Many thanks go to the organizers of the Possibilities Tour held downtown this weekend. The idea is simple; bring artists and interesting, available buildings together in hopes of inspiring a would-be buyer. This year’s event was the third year for the Possibilities Tour.
– Sometimes longevity pays off. Just ask Concordia Parish legislator Andy Anders. By way of being the senior-most legislator, Anders will wind up leading the Louisiana State House today as it opens and begins its organizational meeting today. Anders’ time at the helm likely will be short, but we’re certain it’s an experience, he’ll never forget.
We hope your week is filled with lots of good news for you and your family, and we hope the river’s forecasted crest continues to decline.
