NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Willie Mae Darden Delaughter, 93, of Ferriday and formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan.11, 2016 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie King officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Thursday until time of service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Delaughter was born Dec. 3, 1922, in Columbia, the daughter of Willie Magee Spillers and Ora Nugent Spillers.
Some of the best times were spent with the Ridgecrest Baptist Church Love Circle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Earnest Darden; one granddaughter, Kim Cassel; one grandson, Paul Perkins; and a number of brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her three daughters, Margarette Dulaney and husband, James, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Joe Anna Cassell and special friend, C.J. Wages, of Natchez, and Dianne Mulvihill of Biloxi; two sons, Joseph Darden and wife, Beverly, of Vidalia and Jimmy Darden and wife, Cathy, of St. Joseph; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Natchez Children’s Home.
