FERRIDAY — Services for Joyce Ellis Brown, 53, of New Orleans, formerly of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 2, 1962, in Ferriday, the daughter of David and Rosie Graham Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her mother and her husband, Joseph Brown Jr.

Survivors include her father of Ferriday; one son, Joseph Brown III of LaPlace, La.; three brothers, David Ellis Jr. and wife, Laverne, William Ellis and wife, Karen, all of Flint, Mich., and Kenneth Ellis of Petal; four sisters, Marion Ellis of Dallas, Shirley Taylor and husband, Willie, of New Orleans, Glenda Taylor and husband, David, of Manila, Philippines and Betty Washington and husband, Curtis, of Thibodaux, La.; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
