ROXIE — Funeral services for Marvin “Slim” Miller, 78, of Roxie, who died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Kirby with the Rev. Dr. Steven Harrison officiating.

Burial will follow at the Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.

Mr. Miller was born Oct. 20, 1937 in Kirby,, the son of Johnnie and Leslie McDaniel Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Mary Campbell Miller; two sisters, Hattie Hunt and Maurice Miller; and four brothers, Charles Miller, E.B. Miller, Freddie Miller and J.L. Miller.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Davis and Sandra Miller; three sons, Bernard Miller, Lenard Miller and Bryon Webster; one daughter-in-law, Kim Davis Miller, all of Roxie; six grandchildren, Deandré Davis and wife, Gherri, Anthony Davis, Jadarius Davis and wife, Jada, Chantell Miller, Lenyia Miller and Breayl Miller; one great-grandchild, Deandré Davis; a special nephew, Sherman Pernell; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
