STAMPLEY — Services for Mary Helen James, 69, of Fayette, who died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem Baptist Church in Stampley with the Rev. Issac Tenner officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Ms. James was born Nov. 10, 1946, in Jefferson County, the daughter of A.J. Stampley and India James.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one son, Sidney Coleman Sr. of Houston; three sisters, Kit Johnson of Omaha, Neb., Eva Moore and husband, Alphonso, of Fayette and Ruby Bibbins of Natchez; five brothers, Hardy James and wife, Mary, of Lafayette, La., Lee Melvin Stampley and wife, Rosie, of Las Vegas, Claude James Sr. and wife, Mary, of Itta Bena, Jimmy James and wife, Carolyn, of Fayette and Donald James and wife, Jeraldine, of Natchez; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a very special niece, Ferlesha Newton; and a number of other relatives and friends.
