NATCHEZ — Services for Dorothy Shirley Bullen, 96, of Fayette, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Assembly of God Church, 150 Liberty Road in Natchez.
Burial will follow at the Fayette City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Monday at the church.
Mrs. Bullen was born Oct. 30, 1919, in DeSoto, and lived most of her life in Jefferson County. She was married to the love of her life, Willard M. Bullen, for more than 53 years. Together, they had four children; 10 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy deeply loved her family, and that love spilled over onto all those whose lives theirs touched. She loved her Lord, His Word, her family, extended family and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Susie Mae Shirley; her husband, Willard “Bill” Bullen; one grandson, Christopher Morse Bullen; and one great-grandson, Samuel Joseph Green.
Survivors include one daughter, Susie B. Bates and husband, Eugene, of Church Hill; three sons, Buddy Bullen and wife, Donna, of Lafayette, La., John T. Bullen and wife, Pat, and Leon Bullen and wife, Dee, all of Fayette; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, great grandsons, grandsons-in-law and great grandsons-in-law.
Memorials may be made to Natchez First Assembly of God Church or Gideon’s International.
