NATCHEZ — Services for Martha Williams Swayze, 89, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2016, will be noon Monday at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth E. Stanton officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 4:45 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a celebration of life service at 5 p.m.
Visitation will continue Monday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Swayze was born July 9, 1926, in Natchez, the daughter of Anthony Williams and Josephine Pettis Williams.
She was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church and served on the mother’s board. She was also owner of Bilbo’s Fish Market. She enjoyed fishing, attending church and riding out and sight-seeing.
Mrs. Swayze was preceded in death by her husband, Milton “Bilbo” Swayze; her parents; one brother, Anthony Williams; and one sister, Mary Singleton.
Survivors include one son, James T. Swayze and wife, Joyce; one daughter, Dora Scott and husband, Robert; one brother, Dan Williams and wife, Ruby; four grandchildren, Rashad, Garrick, Shavonne and Cedrick; two great-grandchildren, Karina and Garrick Jr.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
