Tricentennial art exhibit “Coming Home” opens tonight

Will Smith Jr. didn’t have a tape measure within arm’s reach, so he used the next best thing — his boot. Smith was measuring the size of his artwork that will be part of the Natchez Tricentennial art exhibition titled “Coming Home: A Tribute to Renowned Natchez Artists.” The exhibition opens with a reception tonight at the Historic Natchez Foundation headquarters on Commerce Street. The reception, which is open to the public, will start at 5 p.m. Other artists in the exhibition include Vidal Blankenstein, Dale Campbell Fairbanks and Susan Colter Hollingsworth.
