FERRIDAY — Services for Charles Edward Yearby, 64, of Ferriday, who died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunflower Baptist Church with the Rev. Phaion Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Yearby was born July 2, 1951, in Vidalia, the son of Frank and Louise King Yearby.

He was retired from the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles Turner; and one brother, Frank Yearby Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; one son, Kelvin Yearby of Ferriday; two daughters, Myra Yearby of San Antonio, Texas, and Yolanda Franklin of Missouri City, Texas; three brothers, Willie Yearby and wife, Marie, Johnny Yearby and Lesley Yearby, all of Vidalia; one sister, Lucy Lewis of Houston; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Buddy Arrington of Vidalia; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
