FERRIDAY — Services for Mary Dixon Turner, 78, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Old St. Reed Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Tracy Cusic officiating.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Turner was born Sept. 11, 1937, in Woodville, the daughter of Archie and Sadie Green Dixon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the Rev. Eddie Turner Sr.; and one daughter, Cynthia Turner.
Survivors include five sons, Eddie Turner Jr. and wife, Novella, William Turner, Charles Turner and wife, Cynthia, John Turner and David Turner; five daughters, Doris Hooper and husband, Ernest, Blanche Zeek and husband, Elvie, Deloris Gibson, Lisa Turner and Kimberly Turner, all of Ferriday; four brothers, Douglas Dixon; Willie Dixon and wife, Irma, and Irvin Dixon, all of California, and Jimmy Dixon and wife, Ann, of Alabama; two sisters, Daisy Bellanger and husband, Cornelius, Dorothy Lody and husband, Bennie, all of Ferriday; two sisters-in-law, Irma Turner of Ferriday and Earlene Herron of Monticello, Ark.; a special cousin, the Rev. R.B. Turner and wife, Lee Pearl, of Ferriday; 26 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
