Robert and Sarah Dennis of Vidalia announce the engagement of their daughter, Avis Dennis to Shawn Jackson, son of Theodore and Brenda Jackson of Fayette.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Vidalia High School and a graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge. She is employed by Ferriday Lower Elementary School.

She is the granddaughter of Celia Lewis and the late Lorris Lewis of St. Joseph and Bessie Dennis and the late Robert Dennis Sr. of Woodville.

The groom-to-be is employed by Future Pipe Industry in Baton Rouge.

He is the grandson of Mary Carter of Natchez.

The wedding will be at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at The Gables in Vidalia.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.
